Postpartum Care Packages

My hope for you in your fourth trimester is that you feel empowered, nourished and celebrated, wrapped in a little cocoon of calm and love. That's what I work towards with every visit.

Consistent, ongoing care makes a real difference to a new mother's physical and mental health, especially while your body, brain and nervous system are still finding their feet after birth.

My postpartum doula packages offer continuity. I return to you again and again, so our relationship deepens and I really get to know you and your baby.

From India, China and Korea, to Latin America, Nigeria, Japan and First Nation Australia, many traditional cultures honour a protected window of postpartum care, often spanning three to six weeks, centred on rest, warmth, nourishment and support for the mother.

Finding what works for you: My focus is on caring for you, the mother. I'm happy to hold your baby and offer suggestions for settling or burping if they're helpful, but I'll never claim there's one right way of doing things, because there isn't - you look around the world and you’ll find countless different approaches. Every family finds their own way of caring for their baby and every baby is different. My job is helping you feel steady and confident so you can trust yourself to find the best way for you and your family.

“Her consistent, non–judgemental and empathetic support gave me such a sense of ease and confidence as a first time parent.”

-Marta, first-time mother

How a visit begins

A woman in a pink sweater pouring hot water from a kettle into a teapot in a home kitchen, reflecting gentle, practical postpartum care and nourishment.

My intention is to offer postpartum care that is attentive, responsive and deeply personalised. I come prepared, but will always be guided by what you need most on the day.

As you care for your baby, I am here to care for, nourish, guide and reassure you. This reconfiguring of your organs, brain, cells, identity and relationships is enormous. Your nervous system is on high alert and you’re learning an entirely new skill.

When I arrive, we begin in a relaxed way, just like you would with a trusted friend. I will sit with you and listen to how you are feeling and what has been happening since our last visit. I will pour you a warm drink, set the tone of the space with a candle or essential oils, and invite a moment of grounding. This might be a brief meditation, a breath together, or drawing a card, whatever feels right on the day.

From this place of calm, we shape our time together around what you actually need, whether that is rest, conversation, food, touch, ritual, or practical support in the home, so you feel held as you find your rhythm with your baby.

“From the moment Hats arrived, she brought such a calm, grounding energy into our home. I felt completely held and supported, able to ask questions, be nourished, and truly rest.

The meals, the broth simmering, the thoughtful touches, the foot bath… everything felt so intentional and unhurried. I genuinely felt like a queen, something I hadn’t felt in a long time.”

— Pei Li, second-time mother

Next Steps

Every family's needs and preferences are different, so we customised every visit to your top priorities. You don’t need to know now exactly what future you will need. You can select a few items from my postpartum menu for us to focus on for that visit.

If you're stuck on which package to choose, let’s have a chat and discuss your postpartum hopes and dreams, support network and any concerns. Most mothers book while pregnant, so there's time for a planning session and check-ins before bub arrives. If you're already deep in postpartum and only just realising you need help, that's fine too, reach out and we'll sort something out.

As a first-time mother, I honestly didn’t think I would need postpartum support. I assumed I would just figure it out. But having Hats as our postpartum doula in those early months was truly invaluable. It felt like having a wise and caring friend come to nourish and support me during such a tender time.read more
