Womb Healing: A Way Back to Yourself
There are times in our lives when we drift away from our power.
Usually it's when life or responsibility takes over. Or when we allow someone else's voice to dominate our own. It's no one's fault, there are just seasons when our own self care feels like a lesser priority, when we're so consumed with keeping everyone else afloat that our own needs become an afterthought.
Postpartum can be one of those times. A new baby demands so much of you for quite a long time. Without realising it, one day you look at yourself and don't remember who you truly are. And you certainly can't remember when you last put yourself first.
But postpartum isn't the only season that pulls us away from ourselves. Things like grief, burnout, a relationship ending or a new life chapter can consume us as well. Anyone processing something big or moving through a transition, can lose their thread back to themselves in the same way. Womb healing isn't only for postpartum mamas. It's for anyone who needs a pause and a deep nervous system reset.
It's hard to know where to even begin clawing yourself back towards your vibrant, spacious, creative self. You want to share everything you're holding, but you also want to rest. Desperately. You want to be held and acknowledged, but not forced or pressured to do or be anything more than you already are.
My way to hold space for women processing big life moments is through womb healings. They offer a way to bring women back to themselves, their power, their knowing. To reconnect them to their playful inner child that so badly wants to be seen. To truly see them, the enormity of their transition and everything they hold. To hear all the things they really need to say out loud without judgement or interruption. And to bathe their nervous systems in sound and gentle touch to remind them it is safe to be their true selves.
It's not magic, it's giving a woman the space to meet herself, to reconnect with her physical, emotional, energetic and spiritual body. To heal the hidden parts she's kept unseen. Because hiding no longer feels easier, it feels like extra load.
What a session can include
Every womb healing is shaped around what you need that day, but a session can draw on a few different tools depending on what feels right for you.
Drumming and sound. I use a shamanic drum I made myself, alongside my voice and gentle touch, to help settle your nervous system into a state where it feels safe enough to soften.
Womb poultice. A warm herbal poultice placed over the womb space for extra herbal healing and comfort. You choose the herbs that go into your own tea bag, so the ritual is shaped around what your body is asking for, not a generic blend.
Closing of the Bones. For postpartum mamas, there's the option to add a Closing of the Bones ceremony, a traditional practice of wrapping and gentle compression that offers a felt sense of closure and containment after birth. It's one intuitive tool within the session, offered when it feels right for where you're at.
We begin with a chat over tea, so I understand what you're wanting to work through before we start. There's no fixed script. The session moves with what you bring into the room.
Who this is for
If you recognise yourself in the drift, in the losing touch, in the carrying too much for too long, this is for you. Postpartum mama or not. Mid-transition or newly out the other side. If you would like space to return to your empowered self, reach out for a chat to learn more.
